Class Pictures, The Zoo and Pool

Hayes had her class picture taken a few weeks ago. I love looking at those. The kids look so much bigger this year than last year. It's amazing how quickly they change. I snapped a few pics of her before school that day. I cannot believe how big she looks! 4 yrs and 3 months. Only 2 weeks left of school and then she will start the 4 yr old class in September. She LOVES school. I attribute that to her wonderful teachers this year. They have been so good for her. Last weekend Nana and Papa came for the weekend! We went to the zoo on Saturday. Beautiful day and so crowded. We love the zoo and go pretty often. And we really don't ever get tired of it! Hayes rode the camel with Nana which was a first for both. Usually we just wave at the camels when we walk by. This mama doesn't usually do all the extras at the zoo! But grandparents are different! Nathan and I had a one day/night child-free get away and the kids came up to the pool the next day. This was a good trial run to see if Watson would even like the pool-last summer he did not care for it. They both warmed up quickly and loved it and swam all over the pool in their puddlejumpers. Both did the slide and loved that too. Thankfully it was a semi-warm day for swimming! Thank you so much to Nana and Papa for keeping our babies!! It's so nice to have a little break every now and then. Dawson playdate with riding toys and sweet friends...this pic is kind of fuzzy-my 2 are the ones in helmets! Lastly, this is why you should never, ever buy non-washable crayons if you have a 2 year old. Thankfully, these were washable. Watson colored purple crayon all over in his room, our bedroom, the hallway, and Hayes' desk. No harm done but a good lesson. Spend that extra $1 for washable!

Dawson Egg Hunt and miscellaneous update!

My blog posts are becoming less frequent these days and I am sad about that! There is so much going on all the time and it's so hard to sit down and find down to document. I know I'm missing lots of things here and there that are not making it to the blog. I am going to try to do better! These pics are from the our church Easter egg hunt about 3 weeks ago. See how behind I am?! It may even be longer ago than that! It was cold that day and messy/rainy too but we still went and all had a great time! The kids loved everything. The bouncy houses, train ride, tattos, egg hunting, everything! And the ice cream man was there which is always a hit. It was not so crowded this year which made it a little easier to see and do more things. We are thankful for our church doing so many neat things for families and the community. Please note how dark my hair is? Why? Age! Having kids! We're all so glad spring is finally here and hopefully the cold weather is leaving for good. We have spent a lot of time outside playing. The day is just not over until the kids have ran around in the back yard for a while. What else? Hayes has her spring music program coming up at school next week and ballet recital is just around the corner! (Can't believe summer is getting so close-only about 5 more weeks of schoo.) She is a great little mommy, wants to change Watson's diaper and read his stories and put him to bed. Also has been caught putting him in time-out a few times. I do enjoy her help! Watson is a full force 2 year old. Wild, stubborn, energetic to the max, eats everything (but so particular about HOW he will eat it-fork/spoon/no fork/cut/not cut-ahhh! the list goes on! He is sweet and loving and loves to give "paci kisses." Still has paci and lovie close by at all times. The latest is that he will not sleep in his bed. He only wants to sleep in his puppy sleeping bag on the floor for nap and bedtime. So whatever, i am picking my battles with this child. I move him every night from his sleeping bag to his bed after he falls asleep. So I guess I ultimately win? He just doesn't know it. That's about it! Hope to be back soon with more updates!

Easter 2013

On Easter Sunday we went to Honey's house to meet Nathan's family for lunch. It worked out great because we were able to go to our church and then leave later that morning. We had the best lunch, and it was so fun to see everybody! The weather turned out so pretty, no rain in Prattville! so after lunch all the little ones lined up to hunt eggs in Honey's backyard. Baker and Hayes are fast, Watson is fast with running but he doesn't pick up the eggs, just grabs one and gets the candy. I think he was just happy to be barefooted in the backyard. It was a beautiful day, a beautiful weekend, I love Easter. I'm so thankful for the sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross, giving up his life for us because he loves us so much. I'm so thankful for this family he blessed me with. I loved watching Hayes soak Easter in this year and knowing that it's all about Jesus. I love them all so much. I still can't believe everyday that they are mine. Happy Easter to everyone. We missed all of our family we didn't get to see!!
