This little guy (aka the linebacker) is 6 weeks today. This newborn stage is already going by so fast this time. He has started smiling this past week and it's so precious. He loves for you to get in his face to talk to him and touch his cheeks. His fussy time starts around 5 and I think he is ready to go to bed once he starts! But I hold him off as long as I can. He had his best nights the last 2 nights and only got up once to eat. We are still experimenting w/the night time routine, but now he is going to bed at 7-sometimes earlier-and then getting up at 9:30 to eat for the last time before I go to bed. Then sleeping until 2:30/3 and then waking up around 7-7:30. The 5 hours stretches are nice and I hope they continue to get longer.
We had a fun visit this morning with some good friends of ours who now live in Dallas-the Williams family-they are a sweet family and they just welcomed their 4th little one, Jake, a few weeks before Watson. It was fun catching up with Aren and getting to meet Jake! She's an awesome mom and Nathan and I both have learned alot from her and Jason's solid Christian parenting skills. We know God put them in our lives for a good reason. They're awesome role models and full of wisdom. She is a great mentor for me! I taught the older 2 in kindergarten a few years ago. We think very highly of them if you can't tell! Maybe they will move back to Birmingham one day, but for now we are looking forward to seeing all 6 of them when they come visit their family this summer. Aren has the sweetest parents here in Bham and her uncle is one of our SS teachers at Dawson. We love them and their whole family!
Here is a new recipe if you need something for the weekend...Sausage Quiche. I made this last weekend for breakfast and it was soooo good and easy. It's from my teaching partner/friend Beth.
Sausage Quiche
1/2 lb sausage
3 eggs
1/3 cup milk
1 1/2 cups shredded cheese
1 deep dish pie crust
salt/pepper/parsley
Brown sausage and drain. Combine eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Sprinkle half of the cheese in pie crust. Top w/sausage and pour egg mixture over the top. Sprinkle with remaining cheese and parsley. Bake at 375 for about 50 minutes. Cover with foil for the last 15 minutes.
It's delicious. We are having it again this weekend for Nathan's parents. We can't wait for them to get here tomorrow with our sweet girl!
Happy Friday!
